Hands On Photography Workshop Includes:
This is how the West is done! (photographically speaking!)
Join us for a fun day of shooting and editing together at Parkwood Studios! This is a highly hands-on workshop to give you the basics in three important creative areas of photography: Shooting people, capturing textures/abstracts, and combining things in Photoshop.
- Step 1: Studio-based photography: Using a real working cowboy as our model, you will learn the basics of studio lighting while photographing him in the studio! Don't worry--we'll help you along the way and our cowboy, Ben, is incredibly kind, relaxed, and helpful!
- Step 2: Abstract and Texture Photography: Learn to capture interesting textures and abstract images that are hiding in plain sight!
- Step 3: Photoshop to put it all together:Learn to combine your images into unique, compelling, composites with a
Western flair that will take your creativity to the next level!
Things to bring :
- Your digital camera (must have a hot shoe to trigger off-camera flash), and memory card
- Medium length zoom lens recommended (e.g., 24-70mm, 28-135mm, etc.)
- Personal laptop (with power cord) with recent version of PhotoShop (not Elements) installed. Bring your mouse and mousepad, and your small pen tablet if applicable.
- A memory card reader to transfer images to your laptop.

- Lunch on your own: We will break for lunch. Please plan to visit one of the many nearby restaurants for a delicious
**Please note: This class offers instruction for those with intermediate-level PhotoShop skills. You must already know how to access and use basic tools (brush, clone stamp, selection tools, etc.) and have a basic understanding of layers, blend modes and masks.
